Going to graduation parties often feels like attending the same party over and over again. Make your graduation party really stand out from the rest with these great décor tips that you can do yourself!
Graduation parties are meant to be fun and festive, while featuring the graduate. Instead of slapping a bunch of pictures on some poster boards, try being creative with your graduate’s pictures such as hanging them with ribbon or on a clothesline. You can hang them behind a focal point of the party, like the dessert table, or string them in an empty space. As a special gift, you can make a scrapbook of your graduate with a page for every grade. Give this gift to them before the party, and then lay it out for guests to see!
As for centerpieces, we know that balloons are always a favorite. But spice it up with some interesting weights on the tables. Buy some colored blocks and paste some pictures of the graduate on them. You will end up buying school supplies when they leave for college anyway, so why not buy it now and weight the balloons down on a stack of notebooks, or a jar full of pens?
A fun way to congratulate all the graduates that attend is to make stickers that say ‘Congrats Class of 2012’ and stick them on the favors, or on cups and décor. Serve a drink that is your graduate’s school colors, and make little school flags to go on the straws for a fun and refreshing drink! Make a festive and easy treat with Reeses cups and chocolate squares, paste the two together with icing to create a graduate cap! And don’t forget to give your graduate ‘good luck’ and ‘congrats’ printed messages using lollipop sticks in the cupcakes!
All fun ideas, and easy to incorporate with any school colors! Will you have the graduation party that will be remembered?
